Problème :

You need to provide a gameplay whereas topics to teach are not known or can evolve.

If you provide too specific interactions, they will unlikely be adapted to knowledge that will be integrated later into the Serious Game.

Solution :

Provide a system of questions and answers.

Questions and answers are the most basic interactions you can provide to make learn something. This system can be used into many domains and is quite easy to design. However this system does not explore the specificity of each domain.

Quiz games are mainly based on this pattern.

For example, Educational-Games-Central provides different game shells based on basic games such as « Tic Tac Toe » or « Parcheesi » (see picture). To advance in these games, users must answer questions. Teachers or trainers can use the game shells to design educational games on any topics by just creating questions.
