Problème :

How to teach a complex knowledge with many facets?

Some knowledge are too rich to be easily teached trough one gameplay.

Solution :

Use several style of interactions to make understand or discover a topic.

Several gameplays allow to adapt the interactions to the concepts you try to teach. They make them more particular and probably memorable. Moreover such as Varied Gameplay (GD) in a game, different interactions can renew interests of users.

For example, in Food-Force, six missions correspond to six different gameplays (see picture). Mini-games based on dexterity are used to illustrate the difficulties to count refugees or drop supplies ; a mini-game of adventure illustrates the events (mechanics problems, rebel fighters...) occuring when driving a truck to the destination and finally a mini-game of resource management makes understand the development of a village after the crisis.
